About the Work

I help faculty find resources that are openly licensed for their course - this gives faculty more options, and more academic freedom and gives students more affordable course materials!

I enjoy the wide variety of things I get to do on a daily basis - some of it is material searching, some of it is finding unique resources for niche topics, and there's always patron interactions!

I think open resources in general have the opportunity to elevate and expedite the scholarly conversation, and research around the globe. The more information available to researchers, and the public, the more researchers will be able to learn and contribute, and the more the public can see what's happening in the research process, or even areas they might want to become professionals in later!

How the iSchool Prepared Them

Identifying skills, or deliverables, I want to have, or be able to create, in the short, medium, or long term, and creating learning plans for myself to achieve those skills and create those deliverables. I also think the willingness to ask questions, and learn from experiences, goes far.

Sometimes you learn more about yourself, and what you don't want to do, through experience than you would in a class or professional development workshop.

A Memorable iSchool Experience

I was at the iSchool from 2020-2022 and I really appreciated the intentional support from faculty and the program to create experiences for students during that time. I also really enjoyed the iSchool Book Club!

Advice for Current Students

There are so many opportunities to get involved! I highly recommend engaging with the organizations, communities, and departments that make the iSchool, and UT, unique.
