Catalog Description

Examine social and psychological experiences of virtual environments and immersive technologies, such as in virtual reality and augmented reality. Through the course students will learn about the immersive technology and the research behind people’s experiences of virtual environments.

Prerequisites

Upper-division standing and Informatics 310U.

Restrictions

Registration prioritized for undergraduate Informatics majors through registration period 1, with access being extended to Informatics minors beginning in period 2. Outside students will be permitted to join our waitlists beginning with period 3.

Notes

Virtual environments have become an integral component of people’s everyday lives for multiple uses such as socializing, learning, and behavior change. The focus of the course is to examine people’s social and psychological experiences of virtual environments and immersive technologies, such as in virtual reality and augmented reality. Through the course students will learn about immersive technology and the research behind people’s experiences of virtual environments.
