#5 world ranking with UT Tower

Join us in celebrating a significant recognition of the iSchool’s global leadership: In QS’s newly released World University Rankings by Subject 2025: Library & Information Management, the University of Texas School of Information ranks #5 globally and #3 in the United States.

This represents a leap forward for the iSchool, which came in at #10 internationally and #6 nationally in 2024. Driving our rising profile this year is the second highest employer reputation score among top-five programs. This score is based on employers’ experiences of which iSchools best prepare graduates to succeed in their careers.

UT also rated highly in QS’s academic reputation survey, which means that scholars at other colleges and universities regard our program highly. Academic reputation is weighed heavily in QS’s rankings, contributing 70% of the overall score. We tied for #4 internationally in this category.

QS, also known as Quacquarelli Symonds, is a London-based for-profit education analytics firm and has been publishing its World University Rankings since 2004, including six years in partnership with Times Higher Education. QS rankings are widely viewed by prospective students, and have been referred to by the Guardian as “the most authoritative of its kind.”
