Abstract
This literature review will explore past, current, and future studies exploring how patrons search for records in archives. The paper is divided into three sections; how users search for information in archival settings, current strategies archives use to implement ontologies, and suggestions for further research and experimentation with finding solutions based on solutions from the information management sector.
