This project aims to design and evaluate a virtual reality-based experience for aiding mental health treatment, developed by following a user-centered approach. The goal is to explore the potential applications of virtual reality environments in mental health and provide personalized mental health education to help manage patients' mental well-being. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to understand mental health education, user experience design, and virtual reality application development. User interviews and surveys were also conducted to identify pain points and specific needs that a VR experience can address for users. Using Unity, Figma, and Cinema4D, a virtual environment was designed and developed to mimic real-life situations, enabling users to practice coping mechanisms and develop skills in a safe and controlled environment. The outcomes of the project will provide insights into evaluating the effectiveness of a virtual environment as a tool for mental health applications.
