This project looks at three differing methodologies of implementing Makerspace activities in an elementary school setting. The first- participation with a mobile Makerspace Cart on a sign up basis with students in participating classes having weekly access. Materials and activities available through the library are either specifically coordinated and planned with and for teachers to support learning objectives, or are available to classes as open ended exploration after they have checked out their library books. These methodologies were continuously evaluated throughout project implementation with feedback from teachers, students, and through working closely with campus leadership to ensure successful and progressive implementation strategies. The campus did not have any makerspace programming or materials prior to the commencement of this academic year, and this project has had an immense and immediate school-wide impact through this three-pronged approach.
