Taylor M Smith is a PhD student researching the intersection of trust, data governance, ethics, and risk in sociotechnical systems. Her work explores how organizations adopt and manage emerging technologies within safety-critical and regulated contexts. Drawing from cybersecurity, GRC, critical data studies, education, and policy analysis, Taylor investigates how infrastructure, organizational decision-making, and design practices shape digital trust and accountability. She is co-advised by Dr. Kenneth R. Fleischmann and Dr. Earl Huff Jr., and is a member of the REALITY Lab, led by Drs. Angela D. R. Smith and Earl Huff Jr.
