PhD Student
Shuxian Liu is a PhD student in Information Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, advised by Professor Edgar Gómez Cruz. She holds a Master's degree in Digital Humanities from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Archival Science from Sun Yat-sen University. Her research interests are diverse, encompassing migration studies, the digital divide and inequality, science and technology studies (STS), and critical and decolonial perspectives on information, data, and digital culture. Currently, her work centers on the everyday experiences and negotiations with technology and algorithms, the geopolitics of digital platforms and technologies, and sociotechnical systems in the Global South.
