Processing and Digitizing the George W. Smyth Papers at TSLAC

Abstract

The George W. Smyth Papers, a manuscript collection located at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, document the life and work of Smyth (1803-1866), a congressman and signer of both the Texas Declaration of Independence and Constitution. The collection includes a variety of documents including boundary treaties, correspondence, meeting minutes, maps, account records, and memoranda. My project fully processes and digitizes the Smyth Papers, which includes metadata work as well as setting up collection files in the Texas Digital Archive enabling online access to collection materials.
