Owen is a Ph.D candidate researching healthcare informatics, medical cognition, and cognitive neuroscience. He earned a clinically-oriented graduate degree in psychology, and later became a software usability and quality assurance engineer. His Ph.D work includes courses in Biomedical Engineering, Informatics, Neuroscience, Neuropsychology, and Physics. His dissertation work models "body-knowledge": the relationship between neurophysiological information-processing and patient symptom reporting.
