Online Course Content Design: A Learner-Centered Focus

Abstract

This project focuses on the collaborative redesign and creation of course content for the School of Information's online undergraduate course INF303D: Academic Success in the Digital University. The first phase of this project involved the research and assessment of instructional design strategies for online learning and information meta-literacy. Team Based Learning, Universal Design for Learning, backward design, and the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy were identified as actionable models. The second phase is focused on the creation of course content including learning outcomes, active learning exercises, and assessment for the information cycle, research and evaluation, copyright, and academic integrity modules of this course.
