Identifying Solutions for Long-Term Information Needs at ERCOT

Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) manages the flow of electric power for about 90 percent of the state’s electric load. Working as a Records Management Specialist this semester for ERCOT’s Information Governance program, I performed research and proposed solutions to meet the company’s long-term information needs. This included research on industry standards, vendors, and third-party solutions for long-term digital preservation of information. Deliverables included a business justification document, a draft set of business requirements that can be used for a future RFI or RFP, an executive summary of the work performed, and a recommendation to ERCOT’s upper management.
