Design research on Women's Safety during commute

Abstract

The Texas After Violence Project (TAVP) is a human rights and restorative justice project that studies the effects of interpersonal and state violence on individuals, families, and communities. Their current initiative and archival holdings include a collection of oral history interviews that can be accessed via the UT Libraries Human Rights Documentation Initiative and the James Marquart collection, which will be accessible through an Omeka website. My capstone project utilizes Texas Department of Criminal Justice data to centralize the data from TAVP's current initiatives (and, theoretically, future initiatives) into one database so that they are more easily accessible from one point and so that the extent of the organization's work has more potential to be analyzed.
