DESCRIPTION

Overview of public health and the information systems used to achieve public health goals. This course is divided into three parts: (1) overview of public health, (2) fundamentals of public health informatics, and (3) public health information systems.

COURSE NOTES

Introduction to Public Health Informatics (I320M) provides students with an overview of public health and the information systems used to achieve public health goals (i.e., prevent disease, promote health, and prolong life among the population as a whole). This course is divided into three parts: (1) overview of public health (2) fundamentals of public health informatics, and (3) public health information systems.

PREREQUISITES

Informatics 310M.

RESTRICTIONS

Registration prioritized for undergraduate Informatics majors through registration period 1, with access being extended to Informatics minors beginning in period 2. Outside students will be permitted to join our waitlists beginning with period 3.
