DESCRIPTION

Study of how individuals and groups create meaning. Explores research topics concerning people and communication, including information literacy, organizations and innovation, knowledge management, and identifying information needs. May be repeated for credit when the topics vary. Information studies 327e and 327w may not both be counted unless the topics vary.

COURSE NOTES

What is fake information? What is credible information? How do you tell the difference? This new undergraduate course focuses on learning strategies for locating, identifying, and evaluating sources of information. These critical thinking skills are essential in the process of becoming information literate.

Upper-division standing. Additional prerequisites may vary with the topic.
