Through the WISE Consortium the iSchool takes part in, we have been able to take online courses offered at other universities. However, we noticed a lack of UT courses being offered through the WISE consortium to non-UT students. Therefore our project was to design a web-based course on a topic that interests us: Access and Reference in Archives and Libraries and offer it through the WISE Consortium. We are working with a current member of the ischool faculty, Dr. Ciaran Trace, to create a course that is both engaging and challenging for the students to learn applicable skills and knowledge in their field. We are developing the course in Canvas and including as many interactive elements, such as videos, podcasts, and field visits, as possible to engage the students with the learning materials. Our goal is to teach this course in Summer 2018.
