Beth Hallmark joined the School of Information as the Director of Career Development in September 2016. She brings with her nearly 20 years of experience as a hiring manager in the information profession, including work in both the public and private sectors leading teams focused on the creation and dissemination of information. Beth is a passionate advocate for the School of Information and the talented people attracted to this field of study. As the Director of Career Development, Beth is committed to inspiring, encouraging, and connecting others on their career paths. She is available for unlimited and customized one-hour sessions to facilitate the best career matches and discuss individual career goals, interests, and strengths. Beth believes in the power of all individuals to change the world for the better by sharing their unique gifts and talents. She supports setting high expectations with clarity and optimism. She is a two-time past speaker at SxSW Interactive, facilitating discussions on motivating high-performing teams to succeed. She also has spoken and written about topics such as “cool” jobs in the information profession, big data, data visualization, government transparency, early childhood literacy, and library marketing.
