Description:

Constructing the "metadata continuum" in order to understand how metadata may function as an authenticating wrapper for an electronic record. Analysis of the elements of the continuum, including records surveys and inventories, creation metadata, active management metadata, records schedules, accession records, cataloging and description metadata, maintenance records, and usage records. Three lecture hours a week for one semester
